Some settings can only be adjusted by Penji Support, while others are manageable directly through the admin panel. If you would like to update any of the Penji-controlled settings listed below, please email support@penjiapp.com and include the name of your school and the community this should apply to.
General Settings
Customizable Settings

Community Wording: Customize various labels within Penji to better suit your community’s needs.
- Learn & Teach screen labels: Modify the button names for where students seek help and where providers manage their sessions.
- Tutoring label: Change the term to reflect the type of support provided (e.g., mentoring, coaching).
- Tutor label: Update to match your providers' roles (e.g., advisors, peer leads).
- Class label: Adjust to what students are booking help with (e.g., course, topic).
- Materials label: Rename what this refers to in the "Checkbox" Agenda screen.

Allow Users to Edit First/Last Name: Enable or disable students’ ability to edit their own names. Default is enabled, but contact support to lock names based on your IT system.

Apply to Advise/Tutor/Support Link: Customize the "Apply to Become a Provider" button with a webpage link or email address.

Community FAQ Link: Link to your program's website in the Help > FAQ & Information section.

Community Logo: Add a logo to the web platform and mobile app. Logos must have a transparent background and adapt to both white and blue backgrounds.
Non-Customizable Settings
- User Onboarding Role Selection: The "Learn" or "Teach" screen during onboarding is non-customizable. However, the screen can be removed entirely, defaulting users to the student ("Learn") view.
Session Settings
Provider Request Session Length Feedback
Choose whether providers can adjust the session length during feedback submission. By default, this feature is enabled. If disabled, session lengths will be recorded as originally requested.
Drop-In Settings
Remove "for <course>" in scheduled hours
You can remove or keep this phrasing visible when students check in for Drop-In sessions. Below are examples with the feature on and off.
Event Settings
All event settings are configurable within the admin panel.
