Some programs want to make Sections that are intended for students in a wide range of Courses. In this case, many would like students to select one general course that is intended for multiple courses. Below is a workaround for using a Generic Course.
- Upload a Course titled "All Study Groups" or something else relevant to your program (eg. "All _______")
- Within the admin settings, adjust the label on your Sections button (eg. "Join a Study Group") to something that instructs students to join this generic course (eg. "Join a Study Group (select the course ALL STUDY GROUPS on the next page"). This button will wrap around to fit all the text and will be larger than the other buttons. For example:
- Upload Sections that are tagged with this Course, and students can find them.
A downside to this method is that you won't get data on which specific course the student is in, just the general course you have selected. But, this will allow you to make generic Sections for several different courses.
