The Blocked Students feature allows administrators to prevent specific students from booking new sessions in a Penji community.
This is especially useful for larger programs that need a way to restrict booking access at the individual student level, without removing users entirely from the community.
Important: Blocking applies only to the user’s Student role. If the same person also has a Provider role (tutor, coach, specialist, etc.), their provider access is not affected.
What Happens When a Student Is Blocked
When a user is added to the Blocked Students list:
As a Student, they:
Cannot book new visits or sessions
Cannot request new appointments
Cannot access booking through the Learn or Services tabs
Will see a message stating “You are not allowed to use this community” when attempting to book
Admins can still:
View blocked students in the Admin Panel
If the user is also a Provider:
Their Provider access is unchanged
They can still log in and use the platform in their tutor/coach/specialist role
Blocking does not affect their ability to host or manage sessions
Blocking a student does not delete the user, remove historical data, or change their provider permissions.
Scheduling Modes Affected
Blocked Students applies to all scheduling modes, including:
1-to-1 visits
Drop-in sessions
Group sessions
Events
This ensures consistent behavior regardless of how sessions are offered in the community.
