Introduction
Some centers would like to use one communal Zoom room link, or any other singular platform link, for Drop-In, and use individual provider Zoom Room links for appointments. In this model, providers would all wait in the same Zoom room, and then as they work through the Queue they would enter a breakout room. Once the Drop-In interaction is over, the provider would leave the Zoom breakout room and wait for the next student to join the Penji Queue with the other available providers.
Virtual "Front Desk"
You can share the communal Zoom room link with anyone you would like. So, there could be someone monitoring the room and adding students and providers to certain breakout rooms.
Set-Up
Step 1: Upload the Provider Link location
You will edit your Drop-In location.csv to include the Provider Link location. Navigate to Drop-In Locations > Manage.
Step 2: Share the Communal Zoom Link with Providers
Providers will be able to upload the communal link within their settings. Any link will work here like Google Meets, Teams, etc.
Step 3: Add provider hours to the communal link location
Like other Drop-In locations, providers will add hours to this location, which will dictate when the location is open for students to check in.
Step 4: Run Drop-In.
When it is the start of a provider's shift, they will check into the location through Penji and open the communal Zoom Room Link. All providers who are working at that time will be in the same Zoom Room. Providers will still be responsible for managing the Queue and leading students into the correct breakout room to receive help. When the drop-in interaction is over, providers will end the session in Penji and join the other available providers, as they wait for more students to enter the Queue.
