I have a drop-in location that offers tutoring and resources (computer use, printer, etc) and tutoring. Why Isn’t the Drop-In Location Kiosk Prompting Students to Select a Class?
Problem: The kiosk does not display a tutoring button for students to select their class even though the drop-in location is meant for tutoring and resources.
Example: Only "Computer" resource is available when students Check-In
Solution:
- A provider (tutor) must set their availability for the drop-in location.
- Once a tutor is available, the system will automatically enable the tutoring button, allowing students to choose their class.
Example: Tutoring Button will appear once providers input their Drop-In Availability.

Renaming Drop-In Locations
When location names are updated in the Penji system, it’s treated as a brand new location. For this reason, we advise keeping location naming conventions as consistent as possible to avoid confusion.
Log Mode - What happens when a student doesn't check out?
In Log Mode, if a student doesn’t check out by the end of the day, they will be removed from the Check Out list at midnight. Their record will not include a duration or end time information. Admin may manually enter that information from the Admin Panel (Drop-In > Check-Ins > Edit).
Queue Mode - What happens when a student doesn't check out/leave the waitlist at the end of the day?
In Queue Mode, if a student doesn't check out, an automatic cancellation occurs at midnight. However, this does not apply if the tutor has already started working with the student. If the check-in is not started by the tutor, it will be automatically canceled with the reason "End of Day."
Queue Mode - What if a tutor forgets to click end a tutoring session in queue mode?
If a tutor forgets to click “end tutoring” for a student in a drop-in room in Queue Mode, the session will continue until the tutor manually ends the session. To ensure accurate data and proper session closure, encourage tutors to always click "end tutoring" when they finish with a student. This helps avoid any lingering open sessions.
Queue Mode - What happens when a student is not checked out of a session, and then checks in to the same location again?
We do not currently allow students to have two in-progress queue check-ins at the same location. So if a previous check-in wasn’t ended, it will be canceled when the student checks in again at the same location.
